04/25/19 - Business Meeting.
The Elders and Deacons are proposing an amendment to the Church Constitution: Associate Membership. The amendment will be voted on at the April business meeting.
It is the desire of the elders and deacons to amend the church constitution and bylaws to add an associate membership category and to define that category as follows:
Associate Member - A church member who attends worship services and who has personally and/or financially supported the ministry of First Baptist Church of Gahanna and who is currently located at some distance from this church or his or her home church due to employment, health issues, etc. (e.g., a member of another church who is in the process of re-locating to the Columbus area, a member of First Baptist Church of Gahanna who serves in the military and is stationed outside the Columbus area, a missionary serving in a location other than the Columbus area, someone who lives in warmer climates during the winter and lives in the Columbus area during the remainder of the year.) Associate members are allowed to vote, but are not allowed to hold a church office (see definition - church officers).
We will discuss and vote on this proposal duirng the business meeting. Absentee ballots will be made available for those who will not be able to attend the business meeting.

06/23/19 - Mission Dignity Sunday.
Since 1918, GuideStone Financial Resources has been on a “Mission” to provide “Dignity” to retired Southern Baptist ministers, workers and their widows. These are men and women who have faithfully served God’s people and now find themselves struggling to meet even basic needs. Many served small, rural churches that paid only modest salaries and couldn’t afford to contribute to their pastors’ retirement. Often, these loyal soldiers of the cross had to work extra jobs just to make ends meet.

Mission:Dignity currently helps almost 1,800 people with extra money needed for housing, food and vital medications. It has also ensured a well-deserved dignity, independence and, often, the ability to continue serving.
